Nanopublication — A faithful copy of a Rembrandt outline onto skin satisfies the given invariant trivially; the source has no codex to test the instituted one

The line sits between the two layers of P3a: the given invariant (the copied image) is confirmed but trivially — a cheap fit anything of this shape would satisfy — while the instituted invariant (why this codex elects these relations) is simply absent from the source, leaving P9's current, codex-grounded unity claim genuinely untested rather than confirmed or broken.

Context

ⓘ Thin page — the source itself is thin (teaser, notice, paywalled preamble). Distinct from truncation: nothing was cut by the pipeline.

What the source says [1]

The Rembrandt House Museum in Amsterdam is running a two-week public event in which visitors book sessions (110 to 390 dollars) with tattoo artist Henk Schiffmacher and six colleagues to get designs drawn from Rembrandt's etchings and drawings tattooed onto their skin — self-portraits, an elephant he once sketched, a coat-of-arms motif, a full back-piece reproduction of The Descent from the Cross. The museum's head of collections frames this as more than a stunt: he argues prints and tattoos share a function as 'tools of image dissemination,' and speculates Rembrandt would have 'had a click' with Schiffmacher as a kindred character.

Where the lens grips

P3a's given invariant grips cleanly: the measurable surface fact — outline, composition, figure grouping of the etching — is what the tattoo artists copy onto skin, and the museum's own language ('image dissemination') names exactly this surface-level transfer without any appeal to a decoding rule.

Where it breaks

The grip is cheap at exactly the point where it would need to become interesting: any faithful reproduction of an image onto any surface satisfies the given-invariant layer, so this is not a discriminating test of the framework. On the instituted layer — P9's CURRENT claim that unity across modalities is an effect of a codex, not a ground — the source supplies no codex: no stipulated rule explaining why this print becomes this tattoo at this scale on this body, only the curator's unsupported claim of character affinity between Rembrandt and Schiffmacher. That claim restates almost verbatim the PRE-audit version of P9 ('different surfaces of the same interior') that the current ruling superseded. The source neither confirms nor refutes the instituted-invariant claim; it simply does not reach it. Separately, the whole event is built around copying FIGURES — outlines, recognizable self-portraits — which is precisely the reading P1's usage clause excludes for 'form'; the source is an unremarkable instance of the ordinary figurative sense the audit already walls off, not a test of P1 itself.

Propositional grid [2]

Read this grid. “Not evaluated” does not mean the source has nothing to say about that proposition. It means the reading did not instruct it. That is not a result, and it counts in no denominator. A silence, by contrast, is a finding: the reading touched the proposition without concluding, or noted its absence itself.

What was instructed. These propositions have been judged and carry a current statement: it is that statement the reading tested, not the founding one.

  • P1 — judged in Note 04 · current statement : 'form' means PRINCIPLE OF ORDER (the relation of parts to the whole), never figure, outline or image — under the figurative reading the statement is false; what precedes execution is a DIRECTION, not a figure
  • P3a — judged in Note 05 · current statement : say GIVEN invariant and INSTITUTED invariant, never 'physical' and 'intentional' — the axis is MODE OF EXISTENCE, read as regime of access: the given is what a sensor measures on the surface WITHOUT the codex; the instituted is the rule that elects relations in that surface and that only the disclosed codex deciphers
  • P9 — judged in Note 02 · current statement : unity is INSTITUTED — an effect of the codex, not its ground

Overall verdict: Bounded / Cheap fit — boundary case — taxonomy of the August 2026 pass, predating the move to relational verdicts. Kept as metadata: the gap between the two forms is data, not residue. This reading’s judgement is in the grid above.
