Status of the inquiry — last updated 15 September 2026. Two verdicts were re-ruled under the closed taxonomy: Note 01 (P2) is now Displaced (in-place) · Undervalued, and Note 05 P3 Displaced (re-hosted) · P3a Displaced (in-place). The notes themselves are unchanged and carry the reasoning.

Ideamorphism is a practice-as-research inquiry by Arnaud Quercy, conducted since March 2026 under public audit. Its two founding texts — the Manifesto ^[1] and The 31 Propositions of Ideamorphism ^[2] (v1, the version under audit: DOI 10.5281/zenodo.19955300) — are the objects under audit, not the current state of the framework. Five of the 37 propositions have now been ruled on in public disputationes, and four terms used throughout the founding texts have been retired. This page states what the inquiry has established and what it has withdrawn; the notes listed below carry the reasoning.

What the inquiry is

The stable object is the inquiry itself, not a settled theory. Its working rule: institute a rule between two domains, execute it fully, observe the gap.

The audit runs as a public disputatio series: 33 research notes covering all 37 propositions, each with a question, the practitioner's testimony written before any research, a sourced thesis, a sourced antithesis, a resolution, a verdict, a falsification condition, and its remaining objections. Five notes are closed and published. The series will be followed by a synthesis essay, and only then by a second version of the propositions.

Verdicts are drawn from a closed set of six terms, fixed in English on 4 August 2026: Vindicated · Anticipated · Displaced · Undervalued · Withdrawn · Open.

What has been established

These hold across the corpus as of Note 05 (10 August 2026), and bind every proposition, audited or not.

• A mode is a ruled space, individuated by its rules rather than by a sensory channel — and a mode can be instituted. Declared as a decision, not a thesis. (Note 01, July 2026) ^[3]

• Unity is instituted. A rule suffices to bind what no shared space grounds; unity is an effect of the codex, not its ground. (Note 02, July 2026) ^[4]

• Access runs through the rule, not through the organ. What gives access to a work is a declared rule — a codex — not a sensory channel. The codex opens rather than narrows. (Note 03, July 2026) ^[5]

• Loss is the gap between the rule as posed and the rule as executed. It becomes measurable only because the emitter has declared their own rule. (Note 03)

• What precedes execution is a direction, not a figure. No determinate form waits upstream to be carried into matter; what belongs to the emitter is the act of instituting, in a material entirely inherited. (Note 04, 9 August 2026) ^[6]

• Three strata, never one: acquired technique · stipulated codex · the enacted idea of this particular work. An objection must address one stratum; granting it on one does not carry the others. (Note 04)

• An invariant is either given or instituted, and the two are distinguished by regime of access, not by substance. (Note 05, 10 August 2026) ^[7]

• The emitter is the ethical centre. Control of outcomes is released; responsibility for conditions is not.

What has been withdrawn

These terms and claims appear in the founding texts and are no longer in force. They are the most frequently repeated in secondary accounts of this work.

• "travel" — nothing travels. (Note 01, July 2026) ^[3]
• "transmit" — there is no transmission, therefore neither loss nor fidelity of transmission. (Note 03)
• "the senses are ouvertures" — the senses are not ouvertures; the codex is. (Note 03)
• "form precedes the making" — retired in its letter; what precedes is a direction. (Note 04)
• The Diffraction Equation — withdrawn July 2026, built on false premises. It must not be cited.
• The Seven Propositions — retired July 2026: a verdict reached without an inquiry, obsolete by construction once the disputatio method existed.

"Diffraction" remains in use, but strictly: an effect in the receiver, never a mechanism of transport. The term is borrowed from Donna Haraway and is distinguished from both its optical and its Derridean senses.

Closed disputationes

Twenty-eight notes remain. The synthesis essay and the second version of the propositions are not yet due, and no part of this page anticipates them.
